Yesterdays New Moon in Cancer suggested that it could be a good time to be near a lake or ocean, readjusting toward the element of water and taking in its nurturing qualities. Good timing for a post like this one!
I like being on the sea. It's calming, inspirational, and remote. Despite the fact that you're essentially on a floating town, there's still the remaining sensation of being removed from the world for a short while. Living without internet for a week also shed some light on the effects of social media at large, and how being truly forced into freedom to communicate with people the "old fashioned way" is perhaps the best road to recovery when it comes to social anxiety.
The ocean is so incredibly powerful, and just sitting and looking into its dark expansiveness at night leaves me in a silently contemplative place. Unless I went out drinking that night, then it's more just a clutter of "whoa, what's happening, how are we floating, what's the meaning of life?! Hi I'm Sera!"
If anyone is curious to know, a cruise is in fact a great opportunity for family to spend time together. It's contained, mostly pre-planned with things like meals already provided, big enough to get away if you need to ("hey I'm gonna go to the library while you're at the gym! Wanna meet up and see the movie later?"), and is genuinely relaxing. It's also nice that you can, on most days and evenings, choose to do something formal or casual.
